Do bathroom heat lamps use a lot of electricity?
Heat lamps create their heat by drawing extremely high amounts of power, meaning that they use a lot of electricity in comparison to conventional lights and heaters. As such, they should be used for short periods of time only.
We would not recommend leaving a bathroom heat lamp on for long periods or overnight.
Can you replace a bathroom heat lamp with a regular bulb?
So long as the fitting is the same, you can replace a heat light bulb with a regular bulb. So long as the bulb you’re replacing has a higher wattage than the new bulb, you should not have any issues however, if you’re unsure, it would be worth checking with your electrician or with one of The Lighting Outlet’s team.
