Great Light for Displaying Fine Detail

I am using this LED as an additional light in my spray booth to display the minute imperfections (scratches/swirls/orange peal) down the side of the car, and it does a great job. If you look closely in the pic at the reflection on the side of this SS Commodore you can see how all the orange peal stands out. I have one either side of the car and they work a treat. Highly recommended for this purpose.

Easy to fit to existing fluorescent light fitting without modification

Simple to fit into existing fluorescent light. Simply remove the existing fluorescent tubes, replace the fluorescent "starter" with the supplied fuse (designed to fit into the starter socket) and these tubes work straight out of the box. Safety conscious: each tube comes with a safety fuse (not sure you get this with other LED tubes I looked at) and labels to show that the starter has been replaced and also a "Danger" label to warn anyone replacing the tubes that only LED tubes should now be used in the fitting (as the starter has been replaced). I fitted 4 tubes in total into very old (1970s) fluorescent fittings and they are much brighter than the old tubes, use half the electricity and the light turns on immediately. You don't need to, but if you can get an electrician to re-wire the fitting ("luminaire") and disconnect the old fluorescent light "ballast" (which uses a small amount of power) the LED lights are slightly brighter (I had one fitting re-wired). If you are removing the ballast and rewiring the luminaire, you need to know that these tubes have a single driven end. There are 2 electrical pins on each end of the tube: on one end (the driven end) the pins need to be connected to Live and Neutral, on the other end of the tube (non-driven end) both pins are connected to Neutral. If you are simply using your existing fluorescent fitting, you can ignore this - replace the starter with the fuse, fit the new LED tube and it just works.

This is a replacement for a standard 2Ft. Fluoro tube.

Fitting was simple and straight forward. 1.)Power Off 2) Remove Starter switch & fluoro tube. 3.)Stick warning labels where appropriate 4.) Fit supplied fuse into starter switch socket & supplied replacement LED tube into fluor sockets.

(There is a top & botom side to the LED tube indicated by a longitudal strip approx. 1cm wide on the top. Works the other way but looks a bit odd.)

That's it - simple. Power on. Let there be light!!
