Mitchell Elworthy
Role: Founder & CEO
Mitch founded The Lighting Outlet back in 2015 to help make quality lighting more accessible. He is passionate about the difference good lighting can make and remains as committed as ever before to ensuring that every customer can access the lighting that they want and need, even if that means going off the beaten path.
Mitch has used his own experiences to build a team that can help customers at every stage of their lighting journey - whether they're looking for a single light bulb and don't know where to start, or are looking to fit-out a new hotel. His intricate product and brand knowledge is truly second to none.
Mitch is a proud Dad to who two sons and a keen golfer.
David Metry
Role: Head of Operations & Finance
David is in charge of keeping The Lighting Outlet running smoothly on a day-to-day basis. He looks after our customer services and warehouse teams, as well as our finances, and does an amazing job making sure that every member of the TLO team genuinely feels valued and equipped to help our customers.
David not only holds tax and accounting qualifications, but he also has a Masters degree in Material Science and spent a number of years working with global brands such as Lenovo, BASF & Eagle Chemicals.
When he's not in the office, David loves travelling and spending time with his family, finding inspiration on every adventure.
Fernanda Silva
Role: Trade Manager
Fernanda originally qualified as a lawyer in Brazil before a friend suggested a sales role at a lighting store. Initially she only took the role as an opportunity to improve her English but soon discovered a hidden talent and interest. 15 years on, she hasn't looked back!
Having worked at some of the most notable architectural studios in Australia, her knowledge doesn't stop at every day lighting. Fernanda has become a true master of her craft and there’s very little she doesn’t know about lighting. Fernanda joined The Lighting Outlet in 2022 and has built our trade division from scratch. If you’re looking to light up a commercial project, have been let down by a supplier at the last minute or simply want to learn about our trade programme, drop her an email, we promise you won't regret it.
When she's not helping clients to solve problems, Fernanda can be found cooking up a feast or relaxing out with her husband and furry companion.
Tabatha Marsola
Role: Lighting Designer
Tabatha's journey into lighting began over 10 years ago through her work in property styling and interior design. Seeing how lighting could transform a space inspired her to specialise in lighting design, and allowed her to blend her eye for design with technical expertise.
With qualifications in interior design and electrical planning, Tabatha takes a holistic approach to lighting, focusing not just on aesthetics but considering functionality, energy efficiency and the atmosphere of the space too. Tabatha has a unique ability to bring together electricians, builders and clients alike, making the process from ideation to installaion seamless and stress-free.
Outside of work, Tabatha is a keen cyclist, runner & bushwalker. Her two dogs, Ruby & Mj, give her plenty of opporutnities to get out and enjoy nature too!
