Shipping & Returns

The Lighting Outlet offers FREE shipping on all Australian orders over $100 and charge $14.99 for any orders under $100.


We dispatch on multiple courier services Monday to Friday.


Most items are shipped from our Sydney Store with full tracking.


The Lighting Outlet guarantees you will receive your purchase. Delays in postage sometimes happen but in 99% of orders you will get your item in the fastest possible time.


Couriers Please & Star Track Express are the couriers we use for shipping.

IMPORTANT - DO NOT book an electrician until you have fully received your goods to ensure they are correct, on time and not damaged.


Please note: While all care is taken in the packaging and postage of your purchase, we will assume no liability arising from or in relation to any late deliveries, including expenses incurred for services provided by electricians and other contractors not party to this agreement.


Please Note: ATL (Authority to leave) If customer marks ATL in the checkout it is at the customer's risk if it is lost or damaged in anyway. We will provide a POD (Proof of delivery) from the courier if requested.


Please Note: We do not ship to PO Boxes or Parcel Lockers. Australia post refuses to accept parcels from couriers so complain to them not us.


Please Note: Extra shipping charges will be calculated for each order to Norfolk Island, Lord Howe Island, Christmas Island and for shipping costs exceeding $50.


International Customers Each country may have importing taxes, it is the customers responsibility to look their country's importing tax. Australia's 10% GST (goods and service tax) will be removed from orders. Orders must be shipped internationally for the GST to be removed.


Long Lengths For package lengths 2 meters or more will be incur a $30 freight charge on top of all costs.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and the check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is always a replacement warranty only.



Please choose your purchase carefully – all costs for product returns are to be at the customers expense.


Please Note: If a product is no longer required / change of mind occurs, you have a thirty (30) day time limit to return these goods to our warehouse. Any returns outside of this time period will not be accepted.


Please Note: A 15% restocking fee is charged for no longer required / change of mind items. This is a standard fee across the board in the lighting industry*


Please Note: Returns will not be accepted if product or packaging is damaged in any way. Products must be returned as originally received. Do not send back goods how you would not like not receive, EG do not send back without packing into a box. If the product box is damaged in anyway we will not refund the item.


Clearance & Custom items

All clearance items sold can not be returned. All clearance items will have a clearance clearly stated in the product title description. We are happy to offer custom cuts and modifications on certain products, such as LED strip and track lighting, no refunds will be available for anything custom.


Returns Procedure To complete your return or warranty claim, please follow the below steps:

1. Download and fill out the product return / warranty form found here.

2. Once the form is completed, email it to Specifically, for warranty claims please attach either an image or video of the faulty product. Should you need further assistance or to discuss your return/warranty contact our team on (02) 9666 3838.

3. Our customer service team will contact you within 24 hours in order to process your return/warranty.


Liability We exclude, and are not liable for, all liabilities, losses, damages, expenses and costs of any kind (including without limitation any indirect and consequential losses, such as commercial or economic loss of any kind, and/or expenses incurred for installation services) as a result of or in connection with your access and/or use of our website, and/or any of our acts or omissions (including negligence).


Governing Law Any argument relating to the terms and conditions between The Lighting Outlet and the customer shall be governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.


When should I book my electrician?

You should only book your electrician once your stock has been fully delivered, then checked against the invoice, to ensure all products are as ordered, only at this point should you book an electrician.

How long does my lighting order normally take from when I order?

The Lighting Outlet processes all orders next business day and once this is done it can take from 1/2 a day up to 10 days for delivery depending where you are located. If you purchase one line of products with low value they tend to be processed and sent quicker unlike very large orders with many different products naturally take more time process and dispatch. Please go off below as a guide and approximate.

Do I require to create an account to buy?

No, you may checkout as a guest. However, it is better to sign up with your email so that you can receive order and delivery updates.

Are all of your products new and unused?

Yes, all products are sold brand new, only if it is clearly stated otherwise.

What does the clearance products mean? Is there something wrong with them?

The Lighting Outlet caters for every budget, we will purchase end of line products from manufacturers, we then pass on at wholesale prices and sometimes even much lower. The only reason a manufacturer will make a product end of line and discontinue it, is because it's no longer selling enough or in style. The products are still in 100% working perfect order.

What payment methods can I use?

We currently accept EFT, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Pay Pal, Zip Pay, Afterpay, Apple Pay & Google Pay.

Do you hold my card detail information?

No we do not. All credit card information is held with the banks and if a refund is processed it will just reverse back into your account. We can not take any further money on top of your payment.

Is your website safe?

The Lighting Outlet is very strong on keep sensitive information safe. If you notice at the top the address bar on the left, this says HHTPS with a little padlock, this is a service we pay for to keep our store encrypted from hackers etc. Never trust online stores without this.

After the order is placed

After your order is placed you will receive an email with a confirmation and invoice. If you need to contact The Lighting Outlet about your order please have your order number at the top of this confirmation email ready, otherwise there will be delays.

Can I track my order?

Yes you can, once your order has been processed, you will then receive a email or text with the tracking numbers. We mainly use star track for interesate and larger orders, couriers please for Sydney orders.

Product Changes

The Lighting Outlet tries very hard to have every product up to date and matching all photos and specifications, however suppliers will alter products from time to time without any notice. Images can sometimes differ also, these should be used as a guide, pictures are hard to represenet to what it will exactly be like.

Do all of your products comply to Australian standards?

Every single product The Lighting Outlet 100% complies with Australian standards, we are very strong on this. We only purchase from the best brands from Australia and around the world.

What if there is something wrong with my order when received?

If there is anything wrong with your order when you received it, such as damages or wrongly supplied, email no longer then 7 days after it has been received. We will typically send a courier to collect and once collected, then we will resend the goods.

Can my order be sent via express service?

Yes, please call the office on 02 9666 3838 and we can arrange an overnight service, extra charges will apply.

Can I pick up my order?

Yes, in the checkout you will have the option to select pick up from our Matraville warehouse.

Do you have everything on display?

No, we currently have over 15,000 products on our website, this means it's impossible to have everything on display. Please call ahead to see if we have on display to avoid dissapointment.

Do your products come with warranty?

Yes, all of our products come with warranty. Each manufacturer will have different warranties for each product, a small amount will come with a 1 year warranty, however, majority will include a minimum 2 years warranty, check each individual product page for warranties. All warranties will only apply for all hard wired products installed by licensed electricians. Warranty does not include for wear and tear. Some products will require maintenance, so it is a good idea for you to research on particaly the material to get the longest jeverty.

Do you have free shipping?

Yes, for orders valued over $100, you will receive free freight.

I can't find the product im after?

If you are having troubles locating the right product then give us a call on 02 9666 3838, there is a good chance we can source it. The Lighting Outlet has access to over 15,000 lighting products worldwide.

What if i'm not home when delivery is attempted?

The courier will leave a card for instructions on arranging another delivery or a pick up. If you don't think you will be home please tick the box in the checkout for the courier to leave somewhere safe.
