The founder of The Lighting Outlet Mitchell Elworthy in 2012 started selling discontinued lighting products on Ebay on the side of his current warehouse job. Mitchell realised selling online there was always a market for a product through reaching right across Australia. Mitchell discovered a gap in the market and quickly lighting manufacturers were finding out about him and looked at this great opportunity for him to offload their stock which traditional brick and mortar stores wouldn’t touch. Within 2 years The Lighting Outlet moved onto current on trend products and had its own warehouse and showroom In Matraville, Sydney. From here The Lighting Outlet started to take off locally and online through the website. Quickly The Lighting Outlet had started building its reputation among customers for providing friendly, knowledgeable staff with great customer service. By the end of 2017 The Lighting Outlet employed over 15 staff and by the end of 2020 TLO had outgrown the current premise and a new warehouse was acquired. This has allowed The Lighting Outlet to grow significantly by holding as much stock as a wholesaler would typically do, this is unheard of in the retail lighting industry in Australia. Being able to hold so much stock allows us to get the stock out faster to our customers, while also being able to buy at container prices which we then pass back onto our customers. The Lighting Outlet is a leading Australian and New Zealand supplier of quality lighting products. We're proud to offer over 60 of the best brands from around the world. The Lighting Outlet employs over 30 staff in Australia and New Zealand, has been trading for over ten years now, and has no plans of slowing down any time soon!
