WARRANTIES
For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and the check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is always a replacement warranty only.
The Lighting Outlet is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and / or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
The Clearance products have up to 12 Months limited replacement warranty on products that fail due to defective materials or workmanship.
DAMAGED OR MISSING ITEMS
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by The Lighting Outlet within three days of receipt of the product. The customer is to provide photographs of the damages and email them to returns@thelightingoutlet.com.au. If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by The Lighting Outlet and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Do not dispose of any damaged items without written email confirmation from the TLO team. They may request that the items be returned to our warehouse for further investigation. Without this confirmation, we cannot process a replacement or refund for any damaged items.
RETURNS & CANCELLATIONS
Change of mind returns
Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind, product not meeting specifications or incorrectly ordered items may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt. The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.
To be eligible for a return, products are to be returned “as new” in original packaging and re-sellable condition. The products must not be used, assembled, damaged or have been installed. If the product box is damaged in any way, this may affect the result of your return.

Refunds will be issued in the form of store credit and will be equal to the price paid (less any shipping costs). Store credit vouchers are valid for six months from the date of issuance.
The following items are excluded from the 30-day return policy:
- Clearance items
- Custom Items
- Made to Order (including custom cut profiles and LED strips)
- Elstead Lighting, Zafferano, Norly's, Aromas
- Lamp shades
- T4 fluorescent tubes
- Gift cards
Elstead Lighting, Zafferano, Norly's, and Aromas products are generally not eligible for cancellation or returns due to change of mind. In very limited situations, TLO can apply a 35% restocking fee if approved by TLO; otherwise, no cancellations are permitted.
Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered items may do so subject to cancelling prior to the item being dispatched. Once products have been shipped, they cannot be cancelled and will be treated as a change of mind return.
The following items are excluded from order cancellation:
- Clearance items
- Custom Items, Made to Order (including custom cut profiles and LED strips)
- Elstead Lighting, Zafferano, Norly's, Aromas
- Lamp shades
- T4 fluorescent tubes
- Gift cards
For cancellations, where the items have not been dispatched, customers have the choice of:
- Restocking Fee: 20% will apply unless otherwise stated or unless another order, to the same value or more, is placed in lieu of this re-stocking fee. will be refunded to the original method of payment.

- Credit: Will be issued in the form of store credit and will be equal to the price paid. Store credit vouchers are valid for six months from the date of issuance.
All returns, damaged, missing items or order cancellations must be notified by a clear statement (for example, a letter sent by mail or e-mail) within stated time.
Our rights
We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.
Liability
We exclude, and are not liable for, all liabilities, losses, damages, expenses and costs of any kind (including without limitation any indirect and consequential losses, such as commercial or economic loss of any kind, and/or expenses incurred for installation services) as a result of or in connection with your access and/or use of our website, and/or any of our acts or omissions (including negligence). Governing Law Any argument relating to the terms and conditions between The Lighting Outlet and the customer shall be governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
