Choosing a driver and controller
Allow 12w per metre for the white versions, or 14.4w per metre for RGBW, and add about 20% headroom. A full 5 metre run, the maximum length, draws 60w in white, so it needs a 24v driver of at least 72w, which in practice means a 100w driver. In RGBW a 5 metre run draws 72w, so it needs at least 86.4w, again a 100w driver, plus an RGBW controller rated for the full load. For anything longer, split the neon into separate runs and feed each one. To dim the white versions, choose a dimmable 24v driver that matches your control system (0/1 to 10V, DALI, DMX, RF or WiFi). Outdoors, use a weatherproof driver and controller or keep them under cover.
Mounting and outdoor use
Neon flex does not need an aluminium profile. Fix it with the mounting clips supplied, four per metre. This is a top bend neon: the light comes out of the top face and it flexes up and down rather than sideways, so it suits following curved edges, arches and columns rather than tracing shapes flat on a wall. Every cut end must be resealed with an end cap and silicone to keep the IP67 rating, and any outdoor joins should be made in a waterproof connector or junction box.
IP67 rated for outdoor use.
