Choosing a driver
Allow 14.4w for every metre of strip and add about 20% headroom. A full 5 metre run draws 72w, so it needs a 24v driver of at least 87w, which in practice means a 100w driver. For longer installations, split the strip into runs of 5 metres or less and feed each run separately. The 10 metre roll is supplied as one reel, so plan your runs before cutting. Outdoors or in wet areas, use a weatherproof IP66 or IP67 driver or keep the driver under cover. To dim the strip, pair it with a dimmable 24v driver and a compatible dimmer.
Mounting and heat
This strip must be installed on an aluminium heat dissipating surface for warranty purposes, and an aluminium profile also protects it and extends its life. Choose a profile at least 9mm wide inside to suit the 8mm strip, and add a diffuser for the softest line of light. Every cut end must be resealed with an end cap and silicone to keep the IP54 rating, and any outdoor joins should be made in a waterproof connector or junction box.
IP54 rated, suitable for damp and sheltered locations such as bathrooms and laundries.
