Choosing a driver and controller
Allow 20w for every metre of strip and add about 20% headroom. A full 5 metre run draws 100w, so it needs a 24v driver of at least 120w, which in practice means a 150w driver. For longer installations, split the strip into runs of 5 metres or less and feed each run separately. The 10 metre roll is supplied as one reel, so plan your runs before cutting. Your RGBC or RGBW controller must be rated for the full load of the run. In damp or outdoor locations, use a weatherproof IP66 or IP67 driver and controller, or keep them under cover.
Mounting and outdoor use
This strip must be installed on an aluminium heat dissipating surface to keep the warranty valid, so use an aluminium profile at least 17mm wide inside for the 16mm strip. Reseal every cut end with an end cap and silicone to keep the IP67 rating, and make outdoor joins in a waterproof connector or junction box.
IP67 rated against dust and water immersion, suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
