Choosing a driver
Allow 4.8w for every metre of strip and add about 20% headroom. The full 5 metre roll draws 24w, so it needs a 12v driver of at least 29w, which in practice means a 30w driver. In damp or exposed spots, use a weatherproof IP66 or IP67 driver or keep the driver under cover. To dim the strip, pair it with a dimmable 12v driver and a compatible dimmer.
Mounting and heat
We recommend mounting this strip in an aluminium profile. The profile draws heat away from the LEDs, protects the strip from knocks and moisture and extends its life, and a diffuser gives a softer line. Choose a profile at least 11mm wide inside to suit the 10mm strip.
IP54 rated, so it suits damp or sheltered locations. Keep it out of direct rain and standing water.
