This is a shade on its own, not a complete light. It has a 43mm top fitting, which is the standard E27 shade ring, so it drops onto a cord suspension kit or a shade,ready pendant that you buy separately.
The appeal is the weave. Open rattan cane lets a good deal of light escape sideways as well as down, so instead of a hard pool underneath you get a warm scatter across the ceiling and walls. Pair it with a decorative filament or globe,shaped LED and the pattern the weave throws is half the reason to buy it.
At 350mm across and 450mm tall it is a mid,sized shade. One over a bedside or a hall, two or three in a row over an island bench, or a single one in a reading corner all work. Three at staggered heights over a dining table is the look most people are after.
Available in natural, black or white. Natural is the coastal choice and the most forgiving. Black reads sharper and holds its shape visually against a pale ceiling. White almost disappears and lets the weave pattern do the talking.
Order a cord suspension at the same time, since the shade cannot be hung without one.
