A two dollar answer to a job that has ruined plenty of afternoons. Recessed GU10 and MR16 globes sit flush in the fitting with no rim to grip, and once a globe has been in a ceiling for a few years it can be stubborn enough that fingertips simply slip off it. Press this suction cap onto the face of the globe, twist, and it comes away cleanly.
The cap is 30mm across, which matches the face of a standard GU10 or MR16 lamp, and 35mm long so there is enough to hold on to at arm's length above your head. Because the grip is on the glass face rather than the sides of the fitting, you are not levering against the ceiling or scratching the trim.
Worth keeping in the drawer with the spare globes rather than buying one the day a globe fails. It is equally useful when you are changing a whole run of downlights over to LED and would rather not do twenty of them by fingertip. The globe itself is not included.
