This is the small one in our natural cane shade range, and the size does a lot of the work. At 250mm across it is light enough to hang in a hallway or over a bedside table without dominating, and open enough that the weave throws a soft pattern onto the ceiling and walls once the globe is on.
The weave is deliberately loose. That gives you a genuinely warm, dappled light rather than the flat pool a solid shade produces, and it keeps the whole fitting looking handmade rather than manufactured. Natural cane suits coastal, boho and neutral schemes, and it softens a room that has ended up with a lot of hard surfaces.
It is supplied with two fittings. The 42mm shade ring drops straight onto a cord suspension, and the adapter ring takes it down to 28mm so it will sit directly on a batten holder as a DIY change. That second option is the useful one if you want to update a plain ceiling fitting without calling anyone in. Shade only, so the suspension and globe are separate.
