Description:

The bankers lamp is one of the few desk shapes that never really went away. A cased green glass shade on a metal stem, angled to throw light forward across the desk rather than up into the room, with the whole fitting standing 400mm tall and 270mm wide.

The green glass is the functional part, not just the styling. It cuts the glare coming off the globe and gives the pool of light on the desk a soft, even edge, which is exactly why the shape became standard in reading rooms and offices in the first place. Sit it beside a monitor and it lights paperwork without washing out the screen.

Three finishes suit different rooms. Polished brass is the traditional reading and looks right on a timber desk or in a study with leather and books. Antique brass is more muted and ages into the room. Black is the modern option and sits well in a contemporary home office.

There is a switch on the lamp, so it works independently of the room lighting. The lampholder is a standard E27 rated to 60W, and it is LED and CFL ready. Globes are not included.

Overall, I was happy with the item however there were some defects I did not expect from the advertised product. I have added photos of these here. Also the base of the lamp colour did not seem correct as advertised however I could have been mistaken.
As above - please refer to blemishes on glass, chipped glass and glass handles being unstable.
Your assistance would be appreciated...
