A full height post, not a lantern on a stick
At 2200mm this is a proper driveway or garden post rather than the short bollard height most people end up with by default. That extra height changes what the light does. From above head height it spreads across a path or a lawn instead of pooling at its own base, so one post covers ground that would take two or three low fittings.
The body is die cast aluminium with a textured black finish. Die cast matters outdoors because it does not flex at the seams the way pressed or folded steel does, and the texture hides the marks that a gloss finish would show after a season of rain and dust.
The glass is obscure rather than clear, which softens the source so you are not looking straight at a bright filament from across the yard. It is best paired with an LED filament globe: the warm point source suits the traditional shape, and the obscure glass takes the hard edge off it. The globe is not included.
It is IP44 rated, takes an E27 globe up to 60W, and needs bolts suited to whatever you are fixing it into. A matching wall mounted version is available if you want the same look at the door. This fitting should be installed by a licensed electrician.
