A crackle glaze is a fired finish, not a print, so the fine web of lines across this grey ceramic base is unique to the piece in front of you. Close up it gives the lamp real depth; from across the room it just reads as a soft, textured grey.
The shape is the other thing worth noticing. At 530mm tall on a 190mm base it is unusually slim for its height, which makes it useful on a narrow console, a crowded bedside table or a study nook where a wider lamp would not fit. The tapered off white linen shade opens out to 320mm at the bottom, so the light still spreads properly despite the narrow base.
Grey and off white keeps it neutral enough for modern and contemporary rooms without being cold. It takes one E27 globe up to 42W, not included. A warm white globe softens the grey; a neutral white keeps it looking crisp and modern.
