Description:

An openwork filigree base in antique black, with a glass bead set beneath the shade and a decorative finial knob finishing the top. It is a classically styled lamp built from details rather than one bold shape, and it is the kind of piece that reads as furniture rather than as a light fitting.

The shade is handmade, a 14 inch soft back raw linen in a 350mm diameter. Raw linen is a deliberate choice over a hard backed shade. It diffuses the globe rather than blocking it, so the shade itself glows softly and the light spreads sideways into the room as well as down onto the table. That is what you want beside an armchair or on a hallway console, where a hard shade would just cut a bright circle on the surface.

The switch sits on the cord rather than on the lamp body, so you can reach it without leaning over the shade. Useful on a bedside table, and useful when the lamp is sitting behind a sofa arm.

It runs on 240V with a standard E27 lampholder rated to 60W, and it is LED compatible if you would rather run it cool and cheap. Globes are not included.

Beautiful lamp
Brought the black Dorne Table Lamp, its gorgeous but fantastic customer service and very quick delivery considering they didn't go back to work until 5th January and it came from Australia and I received it on the 8th
