RGB plus warm white LED strip, 14.4w per metre, IP67, 12v
This multicolour strip uses 60 SMD 5050 LEDs per metre to give full RGB colour plus a 3000k warm white, so you get party colours and proper white light from the same run. It is sealed to IP67 for wet and outdoor locations.
It is a good fit for outdoor entertaining areas, pool surrounds, garden features, bars and kids' rooms, on a 12v system. The warm white channel puts out 400 lumens per metre for everyday glow.

Choosing a driver and controller
Allow 14.4w for every metre of strip and add about 20% headroom. A full 5 metre run draws 72w, so it needs a 12v driver of at least 87w, which in practice means a 100w driver. For longer installations, split the strip into runs of 5 metres or less and feed each run separately. Your RGBW controller must also be rated for the full load of the run. Outdoors, use a weatherproof IP66 or IP67 driver and keep the controller under cover.
Mounting and heat
We recommend mounting this strip in an aluminium profile, which draws heat away from the LEDs, protects the strip and extends its life. Choose a profile at least 15mm wide inside to suit the 14mm strip, and add a diffuser for the softest line of light. Every cut end must be resealed with an end cap and silicone to keep the IP67 rating, and any outdoor joins should be made in a waterproof connector or junction box.
