RGB plus natural white LED strip, 14.4w per metre, 12v, IP20
This 12v strip combines full RGB colour with a separate 5500k natural white channel, so one run of tape can do both jobs: a clean white light for everyday use and colour for when you want to change the mood. It uses 60 SMD 5050 LEDs per metre on a slim 12mm board.
It suits kitchen kickboards, under cabinet runs, bar backs, media walls and entertainment areas where a colour only strip would leave you without a useful working light.

Choosing a driver and controller
Allow 14.4w for every metre of strip and add about 20% headroom. A full 5 metre run draws 72w, so it needs a 12v driver of at least 87w, which in practice means a 100w driver. For longer installations, split the strip into runs of 5 metres or less and feed each run separately. Your RGBC controller handles colour and dimming, and it must be rated for the full load of the run.
Mounting and heat
This strip must be mounted on an aluminium heat sink or aluminium profile. The profile draws heat away from the LEDs, protects the strip and extends its life, and a diffuser softens the individual dots of light. Choose a profile at least 13mm wide inside to suit the 12mm strip.
