An easy, low cost way to add clean 4000k light to cabinets, shelves and joinery. 60 LEDs per metre on a slim 8mm tape give a tidy line, and at 4.8w per metre it sips power.
It is a good fit for under cabinet lighting in kitchens and laundries, pantry and wardrobe shelving, and display niches. It runs from a 12v DC driver and is cut to the length you order.

Choosing a driver
Allow 4.8w for every metre of strip and add about 20% headroom. A full 5 metre run draws 24w, so it needs a 12v constant voltage driver of at least 29w, which in practice means a 30w driver. For longer installs, split the strip into runs of 5 metres or less and give each run its own feed.
Mounting and heat
This strip must be mounted on an aluminium heat sink or in an aluminium profile. The aluminium carries heat away from the LEDs, protects the strip and extends its life, and a diffuser gives a softer line of light. Choose a profile at least 9mm wide inside to suit the 8mm strip.
