A slim metal arm with a tapered glass shade angled downward, standing 385mm tall and projecting 180mm from a 120mm round backplate. The proportions are the reason this one gets specified either side of a bed head. It is tall enough to put light where a book is, and narrow enough that two of them do not crowd a bedhead wall.
The tapered shade directs light down rather than sideways, so the person beside you is not reading by it too. One E27 lamp holder to 60w, globe bought separately, and a warm opal or filament globe suits the glass better than a bright cool one.
Black or satin brass, both flat finishes, so they sit against painted plaster without the shine of a polished fitting. It is hardwired, so plan the position before the wall is closed up and have an electrician install it.
