An arc lamp reaches out over the furniture instead of standing beside it. The base sits on the floor 800mm away and the shade hangs above the seat, which is how you get a reading light over an armchair or a sofa with no room for a side table, or a light over a desk without losing surface space to a lamp.

This one stands 1520mm at full height with a 350mm shade, and it adjusts in two ways. The arc swivels up and down to change the reach, and the shade tilts to point the light where you want it. Between the two you can set it over a chair one week and over a corner the next.

Two finishes are offered, matt black and matt white, both matt rather than gloss so they do not catch reflections.

The on and off switch sits on the cord at foot level, which is genuinely more convenient than a switch on the fitting when the shade is above head height. Assembly is straightforward. Takes one E27 globe up to 42 watts, sold separately, and it is not dimmable.

Great product
I bought a white lago floor lamp. It was a relatively easy one person assembly and light enough to position easily.
Very happy with the quality and attractiveness of the product and it fits nicely into the space required.
