At a metre tall and 250mm across, this is a floor lamp of the low, columnar kind rather than the tall arching sort. It stands beside a sofa or an armchair at about the height of the armrest, throwing light upward and outward through the weave instead of down onto a book.
That makes it an atmosphere light more than a task light, and it is worth being clear about that before you buy. If you want to read by it, put a reading lamp beside it. If you want a corner of the room to feel warm at night, this does that job better than a ceiling light ever will.
The cane is woven by hand, so the pattern shifts slightly around the body and the light it casts on the wall behind is never quite uniform. Natural finish, unstained, which puts it with jute rugs, linen, timber and the coastal end of Australian interiors.
Takes one E27 globe up to 42w, not supplied. A warm white LED is the right choice. Avoid a bare high,output globe, since the whole point of the weave is a gentle, filtered light.
