316 stainless steel, and why that matters here
If this light is going anywhere near the coast, the grade of the steel is the whole decision. 316 stainless contains molybdenum, which is what lets it shrug off salt air that pits and streaks cheaper 304 stainless within a season or two. Buying the wrong grade near the water is the most expensive mistake in outdoor lighting, because you pay for it twice.
Away from salt, the powdercoated black and white finishes do the same job for less and disappear more easily into a rendered or painted wall. All three are the same fitting underneath.
The form is a plain metal and glass cylinder, 205mm tall with a 210mm projection. It throws light up and down the wall rather than out into the yard, which is what you want either side of a front door or spaced along a path. Two flanking an entry is the usual arrangement, and the 160mm width means they do not dominate a narrow surround.
It is IP44 rated for rain and splashing, and takes a standard E27 globe so you choose your own brightness and colour. Backed by a 1 year replacement guarantee. Installation by a licensed electrician.
