Square, slim and quietly done. The shade is matt opal glass in a straight,sided column, 120mm on each face and 310mm tall overall, sitting on a brushed chrome base kept deliberately small so the glass does the talking.
Matt opal is the useful part. It diffuses the globe completely, so there is no visible filament and no glare from any angle, which is what you want from a lamp that sits at eye level next to a bed or on a desk beside a monitor.
The switch is touch operated. Tap the base to turn it on, tap again for off. No rocker, no cord switch, nothing to hunt for at night.
The narrow 120mm footprint is the practical argument for this one over a round lamp. On a shallow bedside table or a bookshelf, a square column takes far less usable surface than a drum shade of the same height.
One E14 globe up to 40w, not supplied. LED works fine with the touch circuit.
