Most ceilings have one lighting point where you want three pendants. This rail is the fix. It mounts over the existing point and carries three separate cord suspensions along its length, so you get a proper row above an island bench or a dining table without paying an electrician to chase new circuits through a finished ceiling.
That saving is usually the whole reason people buy one. Adding two new ceiling points to a plastered ceiling means access, patching and painting on top of the electrical work. A rail avoids all of it.
Everything needed to make the connection is supplied: mounting brackets, a terminal block and three sets of cord grips. The cord grips are what let the installing electrician set each drop independently, so the three pendants can hang level for a bench or stepped for a stairwell.
The rail measures 1050mm long and sits only 25mm below the ceiling, so it reads as a slim line rather than a box. Black or white lets it either disappear against the ceiling or deliberately match dark pendant metalware.
It suits most of our cord suspended pendants. Pendants, shades and globes are all purchased separately, and installation is a licensed electrician job.
