Description
A 1.8 metre aluminium post in a black powder coated finish, made to carry a post top light out into a garden, a driveway edge or a front path where there is nothing else to mount to.
Aluminium is the material to insist on here. A steel post left in the ground will eventually rust from the base up, usually right where you cannot see it, and the first sign is the whole fitting leaning. Aluminium does not have that failure mode, and the powder coating carries the black finish rather than a paint film that chalks off in the sun.
The outer diameter is 60mm, which is the common spigot size for post top lights, so it accepts our acrylic sphere post tops and most other 60mm fittings. The base measures 220mm in diameter.
Height is adjustable in one direction. The post can be cut down on site to bring a light lower over a garden bed or a low wall, but it cannot be extended, so buy for the tallest position you have in mind. As a rough guide, a path light usually sits best between 900mm and 1200mm, while a driveway or entry marker suits the full height.
Wiring and installation are a licensed electrician job. The light head is purchased separately.
