Description:

A clamp lamp solves a problem a table lamp cannot: it puts light exactly where you need it without giving up any surface. The clamp grips a bedhead, a desk edge, a shelf or a bench lip, and the flexible gooseneck then bends to any angle you want, so the light lands on the page or the workpiece rather than on the wall behind it.

The clamp takes an edge between 5mm and 45mm thick, which covers most bedheads, desktops, shelving and pantry framing. Worth measuring before you order, because a thick benchtop or a padded bedhead can fall outside that range.

Cord length is 1500mm with the switch set 350mm from the lamp itself, so you can reach it from the pillow or from a seated position without groping along the cord to the wall.

It takes a GU10 globe. Halogen works, but an LED GU10 is the sensible choice here: it runs cool, which matters on a fitting this close to bedding and paper, and it draws a fraction of the power on a lamp that tends to stay on for hours. Globes are not included.

Four finishes cover most rooms, from antique brass in a study to matt black or white beside a bed. The lamp head sits 500mm from the clamp.

Very happy
Very happy with my black one. The only negative is that the hood is quite a close fit to the bulb. Makes it difficult to get your fingers around the bulb to change it. (I put some tape on the bulb to help me get a grip on it while inserting).

Only ok
Looks nice but smaller than I thought it would be. The globe is very difficult to insert given the size of the shade. Also gets extremely hot and could burn you.
