The base on this one is faceted rather than round. Flat planes cut around a ceramic body, finished matt so they catch light as edges rather than as a glossy highlight. It gives the lamp a bit of geometry without turning it into a sculpture.
A matching shade sits above, in the same colour as the base, which is what keeps it looking considered rather than assembled from spare parts. On the black version the shade is lined in white, so the light coming out of it stays clean and warm instead of picking up a dark cast.
450mm tall on a 120mm base, with a 200mm shade. That is a genuinely good bedside proportion, tall enough to read by and narrow enough not to swallow the table.
