The sphere that suits almost any post

Six diameters, one 60mm post fitting. That is the whole appeal here. Whether you are replacing a single yellowed sphere at the front gate or lighting a run of six identical piers down a driveway, the mounting stays the same and only the ball changes size. The 200mm and 250mm suit garden beds and pathway posts. The 300mm and 350mm are the usual choice for entry piers. The 400mm and 500mm belong on tall posts and long approaches where a small sphere would simply disappear.

The shade is opal acrylic, and outdoors that distinction matters. Acrylic holds its colour under Australian sun instead of yellowing off over a few summers, which is the single most common reason people end up replacing a post top at all. The light it throws is soft and even in every direction, so a driveway reads as lit rather than dotted with bright points.

It is IP44 rated for rain and splashing, takes a standard E27 globe up to 60W, and mounts directly onto any post with a 60mm outside diameter. Posts, a wall arm and a pillar mount are all available separately if you are starting from nothing.

This is a hardwired fitting and needs a licensed electrician to install.

Nice light but . . .
I bought this light
I was glad it was still available.
It’s fitted at the top of a 60mm post at a caravan park.
I’m an electrician, so I see good quality and poor quality lights all the time.
This light gets 4 stars because everything about it is good except 1 vital point. The mounting screws are inadequate.
It relies upon the plastic ring to securely hold it in place.
As you do the screws up it feels like the mounting ring is going to break.
The light remains loose upon the post.
With some effort you could completely slide the light off the post.
I glued it.
Please improve the design.
I know this is going to break one day and I’ll need another one.
